Keeping your money safe

It is important that you consider how you keep your money safe so that you can use it on the things you want to do to help you live an independent life.

Everyday banking

One of the things people do to keep their money safe is use a bank to help them look after their money and savings. Banks are also handy if you want to set up direct debits or standing orders so that money can be transferred in and out of your account. You can also use a bank card to pay for things in shops or online so that you can avoid carrying lots of cash.

Avoiding scams

Scams are getting more and more sophisticated, particularly when it comes to targeting you online and through mobile devices.

To help protect yourself, read the beginner's guide to scams on the Money Helper website.
