Shower Stool

Shower stools provide a secure place to sit when showering and can be very useful for people who can’t tolerate standing for long periods, or are at risk of falling whilst washing in the shower. They are usually height adjustable and should be set to a height that makes rising from sitting to standing relatively easy. It can be helpful to use them in conjunction with a wall mounted grab rail.

  • It is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure this equipment is secure.
  • Weight restrictions apply.
  • Internal space within the shower and ensure seat is on a level flat surface and not resting on a lip.
  • The shower tray must be sturdy and strong – thinner trays are at risk of damage or cracking.
