Crossroads Care Kent
Crossroads Care is the leading Carers charity in Kent delivering free care and support for anyone living with the challenges of caring for someone who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health problems. We offer a range of different support options, depending on individual need and our bespoke services help unpaid Carers get the extra support they need to live their own lives. We can provide replacement care on a regular basis to enable a Carer to take a break, or to enable them to attend to their own health needs and treatments. Our Carer Support workers are safely recruited, well trained and well managed and can offer emotional support, hands on practical help, and provide a Carer with the time to access much needed breaks. Our crisis team are there to help in times of more urgent need and can offer short term help if something unforeseen happens, for example, if a Carer is rushed to hospital or taken ill at home. All our Carer Support workers and volunteers are safely recruited, well trained and well managed. They offer emotional support, practical hands on help, and access to much needed breaks. Our services include: - Carers emergency services, offering help in a crisis. - Emotional and practical, respite support for Carers, including providing care in the home to enable Carers to take a regular break. - Pre bookable replacement care, so that Carers can attend GP and other health appointments and treatments. - Information about other help available. - Giving Carers a voice so that they are listened to by local decision makers. - Helping Carers to share experiences though social activities. - Supporting Young Carers through clubs, activities, and mentoring in schools. - Volunteer support for people living with cancer and their caring families All our services are free at the point of delivery. Anyone can make a referral to us for help or support, either for themselves or someone else, for all of our services except for crisis or urgent support. These referrals would need to come directly from a health or social care professional involved in the situation. Please contact us and speak to on of our experienced care teams for any further information or to find out more about a particular support request.
