Tenterden Social Hub and Dementia Centre

Tenterden Social Hub and Dementia Centre has been supporting our community and rural areas for over 60 years, providing a safe and welcoming environment for elderly, disabled and vulnerable adults from 18 to 101 years of age.

We are unique in our community and our mission is to support independence and prevent social isolation and loneliness. We offer Over 50's, Early and Moderate Dementia Groups and Tenterden Disabled in Action as well.

Members attending our groups in central Tenterden can choose from a range of fun activities from singing and fitness classes to furniture restoration, indoor gardening, and trips out. Our groups also foster socialising and members make new friends and develop supportive friendship groups.

Our essential and fully accessible transport fleet offers a door-to-door safe service and is a lifeline for individuals who are mobility compromised.

At-Home

Our service, Helping Hands supports members with daily tasks such as cleaning, laundry and shopping and is especially vital for many members returning from hospital stays. Our daily Meals-on-wheels service is supported by our volunteers and covers local and rural areas. Healthy and nutritious two-course meals are prepared daily in our 5-star rated kitchens by our Chef and his team. We offer an excellent choice of options for our members and cater for most dietary requirements with food sourced locally and responsibly.
