The Community Hub was founded in 1989 as a response to the closure of all long-stay mental health hospitals. Our core values are the 3 N’s - Nourishment (no-one leaves hungry), Nurturing (to build on skills, not focus on symptoms), and to provide a Non-judgemental (listening) environment. We offer a unique service that is conducive to recovery that has made us an integral part of the Canterbury Community. We have a thriving community of volunteers who help us across all areas of our work. Our 5* rated café provides meals at a heavily subsidized rate and every Wednesday we have a Social Pantry where members can pick up a large bag of food for only £2! Our timetable is filled with lots of activities including Art, Yoga, Music and Pool. The Centre is open from 8.30am - 4pm Monday to Friday.
