Brain Injury Support
Headway Kent is a Kent-wide charity that works to promote understanding of all aspects of acquired brain injury and to provide information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers. We also campaign to reduce the incidence of acquired brain injury. Affiliated to the national Headway UK charity gives us additional access to expertise, best-practice, and proven evidence-based approaches to positive interventions for people with acquired brain injuries. WHAT DO WE DO? - Increase awareness and understanding the impact of brain injury. - Initiate activities and campaigns which will reduce the incidence of brain injury. - Provide information and support for people with brain injuries, their relatives, carers and concerned professional people. - Promote improved approaches to brain injury screening, acute care, assessment, rehabilitation and community reintegration. - Assist brain injury survivors to return to living independently OUR SERVICES: We provide information and person-centred support services for people with acquired brain injuries (ABIs) who live in Kent to empower them to live as independently as possible and to mitigate the effects of their ABI.
