Who are our Armed Forces Community?

  • Regular Personnel currently serving; Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force
  • Merchant Navy served for at least one day on active service
  • Reservists both Regular and Volunteer
  • Veterans served for at least one day, Regular or Reservist
  • Families - Immediate family; Spouses, civil or other partners, children for whom the veteran or partner are responsible
  • Bereaved Immediate family; Services Personnel/ Veterans have died
  • Carers for Service Personnel and Veterans

The Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the Nation that those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.

The Armed Forces Covenant relies on the people, communities, and businesses to actively support it in order to make a difference.

Safe and anonymous peer support community that is accessible anytime anywhere. It is FREE for UK serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

The UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For over a century, they have helped former servicemen and women with mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today they provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues.

The Officers’ Association is committed to ensuring that former-officers and their dependents live with dignity and independence.

Offers a Hidden Wounds service which provides free and confidential support to Ex-Service Personnel, their families and the families of those still serving, who are living with anxiety, depression, stress, anger or who wish to change their drinking habits.

Their programme enables individuals to manage their emotions and to develop the resilience, focus and motivation to succeed in today’s world. The programme has been developed over the last ten years to meet the demands and challenges experienced by past and present members of the armed forces and their families.

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, is dedicated to assisting serving and ex-Service men and women who have suffered life-changing limb loss or the use of a limb, an eye or loss of sight in the honourable service of our country.
