What is the Joy Platform?
The Joy Platform is a leading preventative care platform, supporting 1/3 GP Practices across England with over 21 million individuals supported since its launch in 2019.
The Joy Platform is available online via a website for members of the public, that empowers you to make informed decisions about your care by improving awareness, choice and control of your care arrangements. The Joy Platform is also available to professionals and can assist by speeding up referrals and signposting to services when supporting an individual with their care arrangements.
The overall purpose of the Joy Platform is to:
- Improve the quality of an individual’s care journey by providing increased information, advice and guidance for services in the community.
- Empower residents to identify and choose the service right for them.
- Improve awareness of services in the community while increasing the use of underutilised services.
- Simplify referral and signposting processes for professionals.
Alignment with National and Local Strategies
The Joy Platform aligns with a broad range of national and local strategies that emphasise prevention, person-centred care and integrated working across Health, Social Care and the Voluntary Sector. This includes:

The Joy Marketplace is available on any internet-enabled device and can support you too:

- Refer yourself directly to services without waiting for a professional referral
- Manage your care choices independently and easily
The built in AI Software reviews any service listings’ website to ensure that any changes made to the information is reflected on the Joy Marketplace.
Anyone can create an account on the Platform or services can be viewed without an account.
